This notice explains how ASTEY LTD ("we", "us"), trading as Rux Candles, uses your personal information when you visit this website, send us an enquiry or buy from us.

Who we are

ASTEY LTD, company number 14278194, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us about privacy at contact@asteyltd.com.

What we collect

• Enquiry form: your name, email, and anything else you choose to give us (phone number, company, the candles you're interested in, quantity, delivery postcode, date needed and your message).
• Orders: when you buy, our checkout is run by Shopify. Shopify collects your name, delivery and billing address, email, phone (if given) and payment details on our behalf. We never see your full card details.
• Emails and Instagram messages you send us.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry or prepare a quote: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you've asked us to take before a contract.
• To process, gift-wrap and deliver your order, and handle any returns: to perform our contract with you.
• To keep business and tax records: our legal obligations.

We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked us to, and we never sell your information.

Who we share it with

• Netlify, which hosts this website and receives enquiry form submissions for us.
• Shopify, which runs our checkout, payments and order records.
• Royal Mail (or another courier), with your name and address, to deliver your order.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

This website doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, so there's no cookie banner. When you click "Buy now" you move to Shopify's checkout, which uses its own essential cookies to run your basket and payment.

How long we keep it

We keep your details only for as long as we need them for the reasons above. Order records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Email contact@asteyltd.com and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
